Definitely a great idea, I always get the kids to help me decorate cakes, biscuits... so they would love doing that and eating them as they go along, hehehehehe!!

Can you imagine the mess letting a group of kids loose with bowls of icing and sweets! Maybe for smaller groups ie one or two?! it is a great raily day idea.

THese look lovely, I love getting kids involved in baking and decorating. We used a great book when in Africa for inspiration - Jane Asher's Children's Parties - each year was covered from 1-13 and easter, hallowe'en and Christmas. so we had a lot of fun there, themed parties like pirates, sport, and I used paper bags and crayons to get the kids decorating their own party bags, great fun.

When my children were small(they are 29 and 37) I used to do a great deal of baking and they loved to help and eat as well...it wasn't until they stopped eating and I was the one eating all the goodies that I stopped baking... :0)

DEBBIES DOODLE, yes you're right - cookies are to you, what biscuits are to us. I WISH I could say that everything on my blog was calorie free - wouldn't that be wonderful ?!

CATHERINE birthday parties here are fun affairs where everyone makes their own stuff (decorations, cakes etc) from scratch still. No themed parties, entertainers being paid to come in etc - usually held out at a dam or river or someone's home and not much emphasis on who gives the best presents, what everyone is wearing etc etc - just good, old fashioned fun & games much as I remember parties as a child growing up :)
